In November 2023, the 2023 National College Students Mathematical Modeling Competition, sponsored by China Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics and sponsored by Higher Education Press, China College Students Online Website and China National Knowledge Network, was held。In 2023, 1,685 colleges/campuses, 59,611 teams (54,158 undergraduate teams, 5453 junior college teams) and nearly 180,000 people from all over the country and the United States, Australia and Malaysia will participate in the competition。Compete for first prize, second prize (no third prize)。

   After three days of intense competition，The team was led by Zhang Ning and Wang Hui from the Department of Intelligent Engineering and Huiyun from the Department of Information Engineering，孙海湘、毛素琪、赵相冬、孙静秋、王艳萍、陈长美、安森景琦、刘蝶、徐开静等同学组成的全球十大外围足球平台代表队斩获“2023全国大学生数学建模大赛全国二等奖”，"2023 National College Students Mathematical Modeling Contest Guizhou Province Second Prize"，"Third Prize of 2023 National College Students Mathematical Modeling Contest in Guizhou Province"。

The theme of this competition covers a wide range of fields, including social sciences, natural sciences, engineering and technology。The participants need to complete all aspects from problem modeling, data analysis, simulation calculation to result display and so on within three days, which fully tests their comprehensive quality and teamwork ability。

This achievement is the result of the school's practice of competition education work, the formulation of the "eight systems" of entrepreneurship and innovation, the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation competition, the effective integration of theory classroom and discipline competition, and the continuous consolidation of students' comprehensive application of the core ability。
